ellie!

ellie

Take an accomplished television reporter standing at a crossroads. Now, throw away her straightening iron, put her in some crazy high heels and watch her transform heartbreak into an adventure… taking back her life and inspiring women everywhere to do the same. That’s exactly how Ellie became the founder of Pink Kisses.

In many ways, Ellie’s been studying relationships her entire life. Her parents were divorced when she was two and she grew up in New York and Florida with an evolving family landscape. It sparked her lifelong fascination with both the positive and negative power of love and love lost.

She became a TV news reporter right after graduating from Vassar College. Sharing people’s personal stories felt like a natural fit; she covered everything from victories at the Torino Olympics to the devastation of Hurricane Ike, seeing the highest of highs and lowest of lows. She thrived as an NBC reporter for seven years.

She’s had her heart broken more than once (and broken some, too). But a breakup in 2009 was the toughest. She looked around for the right tools to help her move on, but couldn’t find them. So, she decided to send herself flowers with a note that said: “Don’t even shed another tear over a guy who’s not sending you these.” It made such a difference that she created ways to help other girls forget their exes & find their inner bombshells. And Pink Kisses was born.

Ellie quit TV news and moved to Austin, Texas, to pursue a new dream: inspiring women everywhere to come out of tough breakups faster and stronger than ever before. Since its July 2010 launch, Pink Kisses has helped thousands of women across the country with its intelligent, thoughtful community, products and services presented in a bold, edgy tone.

Ellie has told her story on the TODAY Show, Cosmo Radio, in The Washington Post & Wall Street Journal. She can also be spotted as a relationship expert on NBC and FOX news programs as well as The Huffington Post and YourTango. She’s never been happier or believed more in what she’s doing. Through Pink Kisses & her one-on-one Talk It Out with Ellie sessions, she encourages women across the country to cultivate their own strength & follow their dreams, just like she did.

betty!

betty (the quintessential pk girl)

The pk girls agree on a lot of things. We agree on all the core principles that make Pink Kisses what it is – smart, fun and inspiring to women. We agree that the best friendships are unbreakable, it’s inexcusable not to follow one’s dreams, and good red wine & chocolate are simply delicious. And we absolutely agree that yoga is awesome…and Spencer Pratt is not.

But as much as we see eye-to-eye on things, there are, of course, differences. We agree that Pink Kisses and everything related to it should appeal to all sorts of women with all sorts of tastes. Hence the fact that we offer all sorts of things to help our girls stand back up & get on with it. Because moving on is the best revenge… and variety is the spice of life.

So, naturally, we all agree that our mascot should be a mix of sugar, spice, and everything nice…with a tiny little hint of scandal. That’s how Betty was born. Nobody knows where she’s from, and nobody knows her last name, but everybody who’s laid eyes on her knows she’s freaking fantastic. We’re not sure how old she is or how many hearts she’s broken, but she’s funny and smart and sassy and cool and she could probably take you down to Chinatown in an arm-wrestling competition. She’s 100 percent badass and we love her. When you find yourself in a bind, thinking about calling up your ex, just ask yourself this very important question:

“What would Betty do?”
