Stuck in my Head

Stuck in my Head
Hi ladies,
My ex broke up with me a week and half ago, and I can't seem to get my thoughts to stop racing about it. The rational part of me knows he acted like a jerk and that I deserve better, but the emotional part of me still misses him like crazy, wants to get back together with him, and can't stop thinking about the break-up/him in general: what went wrong, how much I miss him, how much it hurts, etc. I try to keep busy daily, but I still can't seem to drop the thoughts about my ex because I don't know how to do that. Whenever I've asked a friend, they simply say, "Just don't think about it," or "Just keep busy." But if I tell myself not to think about him, it just seems like I think about him more! Does anyone have any specific advice on how to genuinely stop obsessing over a break-up while it's fresh? I know moving on takes time, but these racing thoughts are getting ridiculous…

Thanks!
Katie

RE: Stuck in my Head
Hey Katie,
May I suggest The Breakup Workbook! I have been using it daily and it has done wonders to control my obsessive thoughts. It helps by actually taking your time to get over an ex rather than just reading a whole book and expect you to do everything else to get over him! This has exercises to help you realize things you haven't even noticed. We've all been there, its not like anyone has never thought about their ex once they've broken up! Its a fresh wound, expect it to hurt, but expect it to heal!

Thank you so much! I've seen this book before, but it was among other break-up books and I didn't know anything about it, so I never really looked into it too much. I will definitely take your very helpful suggestion!

RE: Stuck in my Head
You are very welcome! Trust me it will help! However, don't expect to heal after you read the whole book if you don't do the exercises! These exercises will help you enormously!
